The General Managers at SA Water make up our Senior Leadership Team. They report directly to the Chief Executive.
David joined SA Water in 2019 as our Chief Executive, leading one of Australia’s largest integrated water utilities, serving more than 1.7 million customers across urban, regional and remote areas.
David is a dynamic water industry leader, known for shaping contemporary organisational culture to deliver water services oriented around the continual improvement of customer experience.
By championing key values fostered through his background in regional Australia, such as sustainability, diversity and customer-centricity, David works to ensure water services help build and enhance communities and enable economic development.
Prior to joining SA Water, David was Managing Director of Melbourne’s City West Water, and held executive roles at bulk water company Melbourne Water in operations and capital delivery, waterway management and customer solutions.
General Manager, Asset Operations and Delivery
General Manager, Customer Delivery
Kerry joined SA Water in 2004 and worked across many parts of the business ahead of being appointed to lead the delivery of services to our customers in July 2013. In the role of General Manager, Customer Delivery, Kerry has responsibility for water and sewerage service connections, metering and customer billing, customer account and service enquiries, as well as management of service continuity and restoration.
With a commitment to delivering service excellence, Kerry continues to champion customer centred design and digitisation for customer benefit. She is also Chair of the Water Services Association of Australia’s Customers and Community Network and member of the Customer and Leadership Board Committee.
As a member of our senior leadership team Kerry draws on her formal qualifications in business and commerce as well as more than 20 years’ experience gained from senior commercial, customer interfacing positions with organisations including Kimberly Clark Australia and Faulding Pharmaceutical.
General Manager, Customers, Strategy and Innovation
Appointed General Manager in 2017, Anna leads the team engaging and communicating with our customers and the communities we work in, transforming insights into business strategy and actions to improve customer experience, water quality, water security and environmental sustainability.
With more than 25 years of experience in both Australia and internationally in corporate and government sectors, Anna brings her background in market and business development, stakeholder and community engagement, journalism and corporate communications to the executive team.
Anna is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds formal qualifications in journalism. Prior to joining our senior leadership team, Anna was General Manager for Business Development, Asia Pacific with Coffey International Development and prior to that Group Markets and Communications Director, oversighting US, UK and Asia Pacific operations. She has previously worked for Raytheon Australia, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
General Manager People and Safety
Appointed as General Manager, People and Safety in August 2018, Ian leads the team delivering services for recruitment, payroll, culture and capability, industrial relations and health and safety.
Ian draws on more than 25 years’ experience across both operations and human resources having held senior roles in the UK, China, Japan, Canada and Australia. Before joining SA Water, Ian was the General Manager People and Safety for Seeley International and prior to that he was the Group Human Resources Director for NG Bailey (United Kingdom) and earlier the Vice President Human Resources for the global automotive division of Nippon Sheet Glass Group (Japan).
Ian holds formal qualifications in mechanical engineering, business administration and work psychology.
General Manager of Governance, Planning and Regulation
Appointed General Manager in December 2016, Anne leads our key governance teams, including business planning, regulation and compliance, management systems and business improvement, risk management and resilience, as well as internal audit, legal, property and insurance services.
Committed to ensuring we are accountable to our customers, stakeholders and the South Australian community, Anne makes sure we understand our regulatory responsibilities and that our corporate governance is sound.
Anne holds formal qualifications in economics and business and draws on more than 30 years’ experience in public policy, legislative reform and government administration having held senior public sector positions across agriculture, transport and central government.
